THINGS TO DO

South Philadelphia has no shortage of things to do. Whether you want to explore the neighborhood’s bustling South Street shopping and dining or participate in one of the annual festivals, such as the block party ode to Oktoberfest — Bloktoberfest, you’ll find plenty to do here.

The South Street Spring Festival is a free festival with excellent music, fares, and fun activities for all ages. Another fantastic festival is the Mummer’s Parade, also known as the New Year's Day Parade, which has run for over a century. The Italian Market Festival is Philadelphia's largest block party, including live music, delicious food, and fun for the whole family, and it all happens at the 9th Street Italian Market.

If you prefer to enjoy nature, South Philadelphia has you covered. FDR Park is the largest park in South Philadelphia and has areas for biking, walking, skateboarding, and so much more. Another great park in the area is Stephen Girard Park, which has a variety of activities available as well, including fitness classes.
